Sammy's Birthday and other happenings

Last week, Sammy hit a big milestone...her 18th birthday! Without family here, our birthday parties usually end up being kind of a low key affair.

We usually just gather the family unit and do some kind of fun activty. On this occasion, we decided it would be fun to go to a movie and have some dinner. Sammy had picked The Fault in Our Stars but that was just a request we couldn't grant. We ended up going to see the new Tom Cruise movie instead (thank goodness)

After that we had a nice dinner together and went home to open presents and have some cake. Here we are at Carrabba's for some nice Italian food.

Suz and Sammy were great company and we had a good time talking about the Tom Cruise movie we'd just seen

Seth and Sawyer were less entertaining.  Here's Sawyer having a thoughtful moment.

It's weird when your kids get old enough that you don't have enough candles, anyway once you get past 10 or 12, it get's a bit redundant.

Sammy got lots of nice presents.  Here's a pair of workout shorts that she really wanted.

We also played frisbee golf for the first time in a couple years.  Here we are getting ready to tee off.

For the first time, I didn't have to give Seth a handicap, and he ended up beating me.  I guess I'm going to need the handicap now

We also did a scout camping trip down to the prop.  Here I am backpacking in.

Here's our camp in the dog field.  It turned out be a great place to camp.
