I was a little worried about taking the boat since I hadn't had it on the water since last year when I took Mark out, but after a little warming up, it ran great, except for a small incident involving the anchor.
Sawyer was wanting a boat driving lesson, so we switched spots and I let him drive. I was a little perplexed though, because the fastest the boat would go was about half it's normal speed. I thought Sawyer was doing something wrong, but after checking and double-checking everything, I could find no reason for the sluggishness, that is until I realized we'd left one of the anchors down.
After we pulled it up, viola! It ran great. Funny how dragging an anchor can slow things down. I'm just glad it didn't get wrapped around the prop or hang up on something while we were going full speed. That could've been ugly.

Since it was so stinking hot, and we ended up getting to the lake in the middle of the day, the fishing wasn't that great. All I caught was this little minnow. It was actually about the same size as the minnow I was using as bait.

Sammy looked really cute in her sun hat. I was impressed at how seriously she took her fishing. She ended up being the last one with a line in the water, long after Sawyer gave up.

And she ended up catching the biggest fish of the day!

Sawyer ended up getting skunked. That might've had something to do with his impatience with fishing.

Even thought the fishing wasn't great, we had a good time boating around and swimming. There's just something about tooling around a lake on a boat that is just so relaxing.
